A few things that I am liking or feeling particularly inspired by over the last month. It will range from recent purchases, fashion pieces, homewares, travel destinations... basically a little scrapbook of what I have been into lately.
This month I've become a bit of a home-body which has given me a bit of a chance to catch up on everything and really get myself organised for this year. Being more organised and structured is a massive goal of mine for 2016, and I really feel like I am making in-roads with this already. I feel like with each day I'm slowing getting better at being more forward planning which is helping me to feel less stressed, keep my spending in check and encouraging tidier habits at home and at the office. Throughout the month I've treated myself to some new notepads and stationary (from Blacklist, Kiki K and Bed Bath N' Table) to give myself a little extra incentive to keep on track.
As mentioned- a lot of this month has been spent at home which was a welcome break after quite a bit of travel and a week long stint housesitting throughout January ... I basically was home for about 5 days tops. Pair this fact with a sample sale at work ( I work as a merchandiser for an Australian Homewares label) and you would not be surprised that I've given my abode a little TLC. My bedroom has had a little bit of a facelift this month thanks to plenty of new linen at the sample sale and a new Country Road cushion in my favourite shade - pale dusty pink. Now I've got my eye on these cube frames also from CR to house my favourite scented candles.
Now I didn't spend all of this month inside - on the rare occasion I did leave to run errands I realised I had no nice, "errand running" clothes. My tired old runners were not cutting the mustard and with Melbourne's summer appearing and disappearing again every second day I needed a lightweight jumper to throw on that didn't look like it needed to be thrown out. Enter - Adidas superstars and my new Country Road jumper. These two have been my weekend staples ever since for brunching, a trip to the shops, or on my way to and from pilates.
Finally, the last thing on my radar this month is one that has been there for quite some time.... a trip to London. Ever since I was little I always wanted to go to London and it's my biggest regret that I didn't do an exchange program there while I was at Uni. I'm wanting to get there more and more these days so I think I might have to start putting my pennies away for this long-awaited trip.
Hope you all enjoyed my first instalment of this column, keep an eye out here at the end of each month for a new post in this series!
