YET ANOTHER PEACEFUL MORNING IN PARADISE... AKA MAYA LOKA VILLAS, SEMINYAK.
TODAY MARKED DAY 3 ON OUR LITTLE HOLIDAY AND BY THIS STAGE WE WELL AND TRULY HAD OUR MORNING ROUTINE DOWN - WAKE, TAKE A DIP IN THE POOL, BREAKFAST, THEN SET UP BY THE POOL FOR ANOTHER HOUR OR SO BEFORE DECIDING WHAT TO DO FOR THE DAY. I KNOW, SOUNDS PRETTY ROUGH DOESN'T IT?
AFTER TODAY'S RITUAL WE DECIDED TO CHECK OUT CAFE ORGANIC- AN ABSOLUTE MUST-SEE FOR ME ON THIS TRIP. I WAS DESPERATE TO TRY OUT ONE OF THEIR FAMOUS ACAI BOWLS SERVED IN COCONUT SHELLS AND IT ABSOLUTELY LIVED UP TO THE HYPE. THE REST OF THEIR MENU WAS VEGETARIAN/VEGAN AND GENERALLY ON THE HEALTHIER SIDE OF THINGS BUT EVEN MY RELUCTANT TRAVEL COMPANION (AKA DEAR OLD MUM...) WAS HAPPY WITH HER SMOKEY SWEET POTATO BURGER WHICH CAME WITH THE. BEST. SWEET POTATO FRIES I'VE EVER TASTED!

THAT AFTERNOON WAS FOR RELAXING - YOU GUESSED IT - BY THE POOL BEFORE HEADING TO ULUWATU TO VISIT THE CLIFFTOP TEMPLE WHERE WE WOULD SEE A TRADITIONAL BALINESE DANCE AT SUNSET. THE VIEWS FROM THE CLIFFTOPS OVER THE OCEAN WERE ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING AND IT WAS GREAT TO EXPERIENCE A PART OF THE BALINESE TRADITION IN SUCH A PICTURESQUE SETTING.
WE BACKED THIS UP BY A DINNER AT JIMBARAN BAY WHERE THE DONE-THING IS TO PICK A RESTAURANT ON THE BEACH WHERE YOU'LL ORDER FRESH SEAFOOD BY THE KILO COOKED ANY WAY YOU LIKE - GRILLED, FRIED, MARINATED YOU NAME IT. WHILST YOU'RE GUARANTEED A GREAT MEAL, IN ALL HONESTY WE WERE'NT TOO PHASED BY THIS EXPERIENCE. THE AREA HAS BECOME VERY TOURISTY AND YOU'LL FIND THAT YOUR DRIVER WILL TAKE YOU TO A RESTAURANT THEY'VE WORKED OUT A DEAL WITH. NOT A BIG DEAL IF YOU'D LIKE THE EXPERIENCE BUT MAYBE SOMETHING TO KEEP IN MIND FOR A MORE PLEASANT ONE.
REGARDLESS WE LEFT WITH FULL TUMMIES AND SET OFF BACK TO THE VILLA AFTER WHAT WAS CLEARLY A VERY TAXING DAY (NOT!).
