BALI - DAY 2

SO DAY 2 OF MY BALI HOLIDAY WAS DEFINITELY A PAMPER DAY. WE HAD A LAZY START TO THE MORNING WITH A PEACEFUL DIP IN THE POOL AND A QUICK WANDER UP TO BABY REVOLVER, A MINIATURE VERSION OF THE POPULAR REVOLVER ESPRESSO CAFE. I WILL ADMIT THAT BEFORE THIS TRIP I SWORE I WAS GOING TO TAKE A BREAK FROM CAFFEINE BUT ONE TASTE OF THEIR ICED SOY LATTE AND NEXT THING I KNEW THEY WERE MY DAILY ESSENTIAL. TODAY WE PICKED ONE UP AND ENJOYED BY THE POOL AT OUR VILLA WHILE I GOT STUCK INTO MY HOLIDAY READING ( 'DARING AND DISRUPTIVE' BY LISA MESSENGER, EDITOR OF THE COLLECTIVE MAGAZINE, HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR A DOSE OF PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL MOTIVATION).

SO YOU'VE HAVE HEARD OF BAR-HOPPING RIGHT? WELL TODAY... WE SPA-HOPPED. VERY 'LADIES OF LEISURE' I KNOW. FIRST UP WE DID MANI'S AND PEDI'S AT SPRING SPA FOLLOWED BY A FULL BODY MASSAGE AT BODYWORKS, WITH ANOTHER QUICK TRIP TO SEA CIRCUS IN BETWEEN TO MEET UP WITH A FRIEND OF MINE WHO WAS ALSO IN BALI.
SPRING SPA HAD A BEAUTIFUL, MODERN INTERIOR AND I CAN HONESTLY SAY IT WAS THE BEST MANICURE I'D EVER HAD. IT WAS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN YOUR CHEAPIE-BALI $5 JOB BUT IT WAS WELL WORTH PAYING A BIT EXTRA FOR A MORE LUXURIOUS EXPERIENCE.. EVEN STILL, IT WAS CHEAPER THAN WHAT YOU'D GET IN AUSTRALIA. THE MASSAGE AT BODYWORKS WAS JUST AS LUXURIOUS, THE SPA ITSELF ISN'T QUITE AS MODERN BUT IT WAS GREAT NONETHELESS. THE MASSAGE WAS FOLLOWED UP BY A SOAK IN A FLORAL AROMATHERAPY BATH WHICH LEFT ME FEELING UTTERLY RELAXED THE WHOLE AFTERNOON.

WE FINISHED THE DAY WITH DINNER AT OLIVE RESTAURANT ON JL. PETITENGET RD. IT WASN'T ONE THAT WE HAD ON OUR LIST OF MUST-TRIES BUT WE HAD SEEN IT THE DAY BEFORE AND WANTED TO GIVE IT A TRY. THE MENU WAS QUITE GENERAL BUT WITH A EUROPEAN INFLUENCE. DEFINITELY WORTH GIVING A TRY AND THE MEALS ARE QUITE SUBSTANTIAL.
