The Eve

Last weekend I took a quick trip to Brisbane and I knew that the first stop I wanted to make  was the new Assembly store in James Street, Fortitude Valley. Assembly Label is designed in Sydney and their line is made up of simple, classic basics in neutral colours and quality fabrics. Taking inspiration from Sydney's coastal surrounds their line of curated staples embody an effortless contemporary style. Very laid-back, 'casual-cool'.

Assembly has only recently opened in Brisbane and as soon as my Instagram feed filled with photos of their opening night I knew I had to see it. The interior reflects the style of the label, minimal design with an appreciation for material and overall relaxed feel. Clean white walls frame the clothing which is displayed on sectional racks and curated into colour themes. Even on a cloudy day the store was flooded with light giving the store a fresh breezy feel.

The store is peppered with accessories which are carefully selected to work alongside the Assembly clothing. Grown Alchemist skincare is beautifully displayed en mass on timber cabinetry, St. Agni leather sandals sit underneath coordinating clothing and Sunbuddies sunglasses are displayed on timber shelving against the back wall. Unique potted plants  break the minimal aesthetic and bring life and texture into the space. But my favourite design feature of all had to be the stunning Mr & Mrs White linen chairs that sit on a round rattan rug in the centre of the store (Fun fact: Mr & Mrs White design Assembly's store fit outs).

With a great deal of restraint I left with only a striped T-shirt dress in tow but with a wish-list a mile long. Luckily they have also recently opened a Melbourne boutique because I think I'll be needing to pay Assembly another visit very soon.
